How to do follow up to PCs

Thank you very much in your extended help regarding program requirements. I applied to the programs according to requirements and waiting for some positive things to be happen.
I have few questions. My credentials are 80/90/Cs passed in 2nd attempt/2007 graduate/2 lors from private practice based doctors 2 lors from India/6th month of shadowing in private clinics/EAD 1. I have valid EAD and my green card is expected in Jan-Feb 2009 according to US immigration policies. I applied to 125 (FM+IM) programs before my CS result as I have attempt in CS and was waiting for result. Thank god and thanks to USMLESOURCE.COM i managed to pass in 2nd attempt. I passed In 2nd attempt and than I applied to more 80 programs in Psychiatry and Pediatrics for which I am not very positive and expecting as it might be late applications. But Since today I got about 38 rejections and One interview in FM. Should I follow up by e mails or phone to program coordinator. Well will it hurt my chances as some programs sent acknowledgment emails do not contact them by emails or calls as they are very busy reviewing applications. 2. I have 38 rejections and only one interview by this date Are there any hope for interview ??
3. I got one FM interview. Any suggestions for IV prep??
4. In IV can we ask about prematch to IV selection committee or when they like candidate than themselves they offer Prematch??? any input is highly appreciated. I admire residentcafe which is really helpful regards

In general, give the programs about 4-6 weeks to review your application and if they have not responded, it is reasonable to follow up via email or phone. IF any program sent an email not to call to follow up, you can exclude them. It is a bit tough to see the rejections but do not loose your spirit. As for the interview prep, try pacticing some of the commonly asked interview questions available on residentscafe. Do a search and you will find plenty of questions. Practice with a friend or family member. Study the program by visiting their website etc. Also, learn about the key people in that program, their research publications etc. by doing a search on pubmed. You can even read the abstracts or articles. Just show your interest in them and the program and if they like you, they may offer a prematch or rank you high. You can ask the program coordinator after the interview if they do prematches and if they do, you would like to be considered. Do not sound or look disperate during the whole process. All the best.
